Thurs, 10 March 2016, 11:07 pm (UK time): This is the scene three minutes after I sit down with a freshly poured Fuller’s Honey Dew in my local. (Your “local” is whichever bar you frequent due to its being the nearest one to where you live. In Arcadia, my local is Chili’s or Beef O’ Brady’s. Here in London, for two consecutive adventures, my local is the Mad Hatter.)
As I post this, this was literally an hour ago. This is Matt’s epic journey, fresh from the tap! And this video illustrates in no uncertain terms how London goes from sixty to zero in three minutes or less.
When I walked in off the street, after a full evening of video-shooting and city-exploring, I saw a bustling pub ready for me to join its drinking scene for a joyful social nightcap. I rushed upstairs to my room (yes, my hotel room is directly above a pub, surprising approximately ZERO people who’ve ever met me), hung up my windbreaker, took off my gloves, and darted right back down to join the scene.
And, because this is London and it was 11:07 pm, this became the scene.
